Issue 9, Spring Passion Pinups

The Spring Issue of Passion Pinups Is finally here and I’m so happy that I got featured again. You can see my name and what page number 28. wink wink. The first issue I did for Passion Pinups was the winter holiday issue last year which featured me on the front cover. I loved being on the front. If you haven’t seen my holiday winter issue last year definitely check it out here. And I’m excited to report that I have my photo in the centerfold of this issue.

I’ve become good friends with Chrissy( Kittens) Blake, the creator of Passion and I’ve told everyone on here how sweet she is. She know’s I’m an artist so you asked if I could send her a few photos of my pieces because she wanted to feature and  showcase my art which I thought that was so cool of her. I ended up sending her a print two of my new deck that I just created, images from my latest Victorian Steampunk jewelry/trinket box, and an oval creation that I loved making and have hanging in my vanity area That’s just a couple of the many reasons why I enjoy being part of Passion Pinups.

Here are some of my spring photos, you might recognize some of fascinators from my wonderful friend Debra Shirley because I used her floral  but they were perfect for spring. I hope you enjoy the little teaser.

“Victorian Private Show Lady” Photo Shoot Part 2

For part 2 of this shoot, my inspiration was still the “Victorian Lady” theme obviously but I wanted to dress and pose how a burlesque dancer from the early 1900’s would’ve dressed. I definitely did my research on this considering burlesque is a major passion of mine but I also took inspiration from one of my favorite television shows, “Murdoch Mysteries,” which is a brilliant Canadian show that I recommend to everyone.

I love the second hat fascinator from Debra Shirley and it worked perfectly with my Victorian corset, my fishnets that I stoned myself, and my other accessories. I wanted to do both outside and inside shots since this is a little bit more of a “PEEK A BOO” shoot but still “CLASSY AS ALWAYS!” That’s a true burlesque performer.

The Best Anti-Aging Product

FullSizeRender (4)

There are so many fabulous skin care brands and products out on the market but the BEST Anti-Aging Product is a fabulous big pair of sunglasses! I wear sun glasses pretty much every day and even when I go out to work or errands and it’s cloudy, I keep and extra pair of sunglasses in my glove box in case the sun comes out. As you all know,  I live in Southern California and the light is often bright and blinding a lot and my eyes are sensitive in the sun and don’t want wrinkles anywhere, especially around my eyes that can cause “crows feet,” which I never plan on having so I never leave home without my sexy shades plus a sun glass case to keep them clean and not scratched.

IMG_1991There are so many styles out there depending on your look or mood but I definitely recommend the  larger framed sunglasses so they cover up your sensitive eyes and lower the risk of wrinkles.

This advice works for both men and women. Even my  pinup cat eye glasses protect me eyes.

Vintage Springtime Pinup

IMG_1692bw

A little under two weeks ago on a Saturday, I had a fantastic day of shooting with Jordan Giuliani. I’ve known Jordan for years and he’s such a great friend. We actually have done a few  photo shoots in the past where we BOTH were models and always had a lot of fun. He is a very creative and talented person and his photographic skills are wonderful. I can’t thank him enough for coming out to my neck of the woods to do this project with me.

When we did our day of shooting we did a few different looks and styles and here is just one of themes we did. It’s a Spring Time Pinup theme that we did outside in my floral vintage dress, Cuban heel stockings, and tall black glitter high heels shoes.

The weather was perfect for this shoot as well and had a lot of fun.

Here are my favorite photos from my Vintage Springtime Pinup shoot. I hope you enjoy then and stay tuned for the other theme we did.

Springtime Style on a Budget

I recently had another guest blogger spot on my girlfriend Sarah’s blog, https://lifewithlilred.com/. You all remember the fun style swap her and I did, her as a pinup rockabilly chick and me as a preppy princess and I always love collaborating with her.

This morning she posted the blog I wrote for her spring edition on her site and it had such a nice look and turn out that I wanted to put up my post here as well.  The topic of course was Spring and I decided to write a blog post entitled, “Springtime Style on a Budget.” Here it is. Hope you all enjoy and make sure to follow my blog if you aren’t already and to check out my fabulous girl Sarah’s blog as well.

SPRINGTIME STYLE ON A BUDGET:

If you are yearning for some new spring style items to add to your wardrobe but can’t afford or don’t want to buy new clothes or accessories, here are some ways to celebrate springtime without hurting your bank account:
1. Affordable Shops – If you are wanting some new floral clothes or just a new item in spring colors, check out shops like Ross or TJMaxx. They get new cute tops, bottoms, and even shoes for each season plus have designer items with prices that are a steal. Sometimes you have to scour the clothing racks for the perfect thing but you are guaranteed to always find something that you’ll love.
2. Accessorize – You can celebrate and update your spring fashion with cute little accessories such as hair flowers, floral head bands, scarves, jewelry, and more. Stores like Claire’s or similar places carry an enormous array of cute seasonal accessories for great deals.

3. Makeup – If you don’t want to go crazy with a new wardrobe just for spring, you can celebrate the season with your makeup. This time of the year, you can find pastel and springy colored makeup like eye shadows and lipsticks in pinks, greens, and pretty shimmery colors. You don’t need to go to department stores or even Sephora if you don’t want to or are on a budget. CVS and Walgreens drugstores always have a huge selection of great quality makeup in every color that you can imagine for amazing prices.

4. Hair – If you’re interested in trying more of a punk or rocker look for spring, you can buy clip in extensions in an array of different colors almost anywhere, including online. Or you can get hair chalk, which is temporary and can be found in drugstores and beauty supply shops. You’ll definitely have your own original look for the spring, while utilizing the “it” colors like jewel floral tones and pastels.

5. DIY- If you’re an artistic or creative person, then your spring style ideas are pretty much endless. You can use your talent to make your own items and accessories with affordable supplies from places like Jo-Ann’s or other craft and fabric shops. Some examples include chokers made with silk ribbons in floral colors with cute charms or your own flower hair pieces, brooches, and corsages.

These are just a few ideas to help you create your own original look and style for the upcoming season. Let these ideas and tips inspire you. Have fun with them and have a most wonderful spring.
