Makeup Tool Essentials

These are my favorite makeup tools that I use daily. I have many beauty tools I use but these are my tops.I recommend all of these products to check out and try. Most of these are inexpensive and are available online as well in most stores.

FAVORITE FACE TOOL ESSENTIALS:

  1. Powder puff– For touch ups and to control shine. Very cheap to buy and can be found almost anywhere. They usually cost a dollar or two.
  2. The Original Beauty Blender. I also am really liking my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. My go to for foundation, concealer, setting under eye powder and more is definitely the beauty blender although I do like the shape of the real technique sponge.
  3.  A Big Fluffy Powder Brush- This is a must-have for setting makeup, touch ups, wiping away any eye shadow excess, etc. This brush does the most work when doing makeup and it has many jobs and can fix a multiple of sins.

FAVORITE EYE TOOLS:

1. Morphe Eye-Shadow Brush M433

2. Morphe Eye-Shadow Brush M441

3. My sharp angled Brush- The brand wiped off the handle because I use it so much.

4. Shiseido Eye Lash Curler- I can’t be without my eye curler and the best eye curler I’ve ever used is by Shiseido.

5. Eye Brow Comb and Brush- I believe this is a must-have in any makeup lovers and artist’s kit. It brushes your brows straight, separates your lashes if you have any clumps, and more. You can find these anywhere but the one I have right now is by Beauty360.

FAVORITE HIGLIGHTING TOOLS:

1. Morphe brush M510

2. Higlighting Fan Brush- You can get these anywhere and don’t have to spend money on a luxury fan brush if you don’t want to.

These two brushes are my tops because my Morphe brush is perfect for when I want to have a blinding highlight so aliens can see me from space, and my fan brush is perfect for everyday when I want a more natural glow.

FAVORITE BLUSH TOOLS:

  1. Artis Oval 6 Brush

2. Ucanbe Purple and Black Blush and Contour Brush

LIP TOOLS:

1.   I only have one lip tool and that’s only if I’m not wearing liquid lipstick. It’s my lip brush. There are so many on the market by I like the retractable ones because they are easier to store and less messy. My current one I’m using is the retractable lipbrush by E.L.F

*****My last makeup tool essential is my fan. I’m sure you’ve seen me in photoshoots and pictures with my wooden flip fans. I have a collection. My fans are essentials because I use them to dry and makeup, setting spray, (especially since I use my double setting spray technique) lipstick, and more.

I hope this list inspired you to try new makeup tools out and to see which ones are the best.

Makeup for the Spa

I love wearing makeup and being creative but whenever I get a spa treatment done, I’m obviously not going to do a full face of makeup. Especially if I go to get a facial (duh) and when you I get massage, even if I’m wearing eyeliner, my makeup still sometimes get smeared or giving me a “heroin chic” look.

Here’s how I do my face up after my skincare to get spa treatments, depending on what treatment I get of course, facial, massage. Also my spa necessities I bring with me.

For makeup if I’m getting my massages, my go to is Bare Minerals matte loose powder foundation and loose original mineral veil loose powder. If I’m skin is acting acting up, I’ll bring my MAC studio fix powder foundation compact just curl lashes, put clear brow gel on my brows, and a lip treatment.

For a facial I just bring a toner that will soothe my skin like Fresh Rose Water Toner. I’ll also bring my MAC powder foundation to use ONLY if I’m feeling self conscious.

The most important thing is for me to have my sunglasses. Especially coming out of a soft lit spot and then going into the bright light. Always bring them with you.

Here’s some spa beauty tips for ideas if you’re feeling self conscious and can’t go into these spas without anxiety. Thank you for reading.

Major Beauty Misses!

I haven’t done a monthly HITS/MISSES VIDEO FOR A WHILE NOW. EVEN THOUGH I REVIEW FASHION, BEAUTY, AND MORE REVIEWS ON HERE, I DECIDED TO REVEIW MY (MISSES) HERE BECAUSE I DON’T HAVE THE PRODUCTS OR PACKAGING ANY MORE, THERE ARE ONLY TWO PRODUCTS TO GIVE MY NEGATIVE OPINIONS ON, SO I THOUGHT IT WAS SILLY TO DO A LONG VIDEO FOR SO FEW MISSES, AND EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A SHORT LIST, THESE ITEMS ARE MAJOR MISSES FOR ME.

I DON’T RECOMMEND EITHER OF THEM!

MY NEW BEAUTY, FASHION, AND STYLE “HITS,” WILL BE IN ONE OF MY FUN FANTASTIC VIDEOS IN THE NEXT POST HERE!

HERE ARE MY 2 MAJOR MONTHLY MISSES:

1. Boscia BB Cream- I not a huge fan of BB creams anyways but this one was the worst. It didn’t do anything it said it was supposed to do. For example, it doesn’t adjust to you skin tone like it said it did. I used the lightest color which didn’t bother me because it was supposed to adjust your skin ton. It didn’t do any of that and then almost looked cakey and greasy at the same time which is hard to do.

2. Becca Foundation- I love a lot of makeup and beauty products from Becca so at my most recent GROUP pinup Valentine’s Day shoot which I posted SOME of the photos here on my site in late January, early February, when the MUA started using the Becca foundation, I was excited because I had never use their foundation before. How disappointed was I?

This foundation was so cakey and by the end of my shoot, my WHOLE FOUNDATION COMPLETELY OXIDIZED SO I LOOKED REALLY ORANGE AND STREAKY BY THE TIME MY PHOTOSHOOT WAS OVER. I even noticed it in a few of my photos. I noticed on their site that there are different Becca foundation formulas out there but the one I believe was used on me was the Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme’ because I had read some reviews on this particular formula and they had problems with oxidation also.

You all know I know makeup, how to professional do makeup, different brands, beauty, and formulas. The Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme’ sits on the skin in a very ugly way, no matter what moisturizer/primer you use, and settles into any fine lines you may have. I have a very good skincare routine and keep my skin very healthy but it didn’t matter….. CAKE CITY!

My Blood Sugar Palette Review

This palette was a HUGE HIT FOR ME. I’ve been practicing eye looks with almost all the colors and it is my favorite Jeffree Star Cosmetics palette. DEFINITELY BUY OR PRE-ORDER THIS PALETTE ON JEFFREESTARCOSMETICS.COM OR AT BEAUTYLISH! YOU CAN DO SO MANY LOOKS WITH THIS PALETTE DESPITE YOUR MAKEUP STYLE!

Blood Sugar Palette from the LOVE SICK COLLECTION

Whenever Jeffree Star puts out a new collection, I always get excited and the collections are always fabulous. When he revealed his latest makeup collection,
“Love Sick Collection,” I absolutely lost it with my ecstatic excitement. The whole collection is in my favorite color which immediately caught my eye and then I saw the new ” Blood Sugar” eyeshadow palete with other products on his reveal video and instantly couldn’t wait for the launch date.

**At the very bottom of this article, I included Jeffree’s reveal of the LOVE SICK COLLECTION including this palette plus other products from this collection, such as other lipscrubs, lipsticks, and more.

When he launched “Love Sick”, I pre-ordered the “Blood Sugar” palette and bought a few other goodies from the collection such the sexy new red cosmetic case that can hold a full sized palette which is very cool. I also bought the new “Candy Necklace” velour lip scrub which is so yummy and a great addition to my lip scrub collection.

I received my “Blood Sugar” palette last week and I’m so in love with it. The packaging is the absolute best. It’s a one of a kind red faux leather box with metal clasps. It comes with 18 gorgeous shades, in 3 formulas, metal, matte, and pressed glitter. The names of the pigmented shades are so cute and very appropriate for this palette. The details of this palette is so cute with the stamps of some of the shadows such as medical needle and a medical symbol, which I included a closeup picture here.

The best thing about this palette is that I can create so many looks and styles with just this palette from traditional, vintage, pinup makeup, to sexy smoldering, psychobilly, natural, and more. I’m an artist and I always love being creative and like to create art in the makeup genre. Makeup is definitely an art form.

I wanted to write this article to give and share my first impressions and review on this makeup collection and I definitely plan on posting pictures of me with different makeup looks using just it in the future.

The “Love Sick” collection is yet again another fantastic collection of makeup and products from Jeffree Star Cosmetics. Everything Jeffree puts out I love but this collection is my favorite from him and out of all the eyeshadow palettes he’s put out, the BLOOD SUGAR PALETTE IS my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PALETTE!

It’s obvious that I recommend this  collection especially the eye shadow palette. The palette sells quickly but you can still pre-order at jeffreestarcosmetics.com and at beautylish.com.

The Power of Lipstick, the Glossy Rainbow Edition

Here’s my last installment of my “Power of Lipstick” Trilogy. I’m ending this last lipstick part with my favorite colors that are more on the edgy side but are still hot, fun, and beautiful to wear.

It was hard for me to choose which colors I wanted to show here but here are my top faves:

1. “Savage” (mega matte,) Vice lipstick by Urban Decay- This bright pink lipstick is hot hot hot. I love wearing this lipstick, especially when I do a colorful look, a hot psychobilly look, or just for fun. The Urban Decay VICE formula is one of my favorite lip formulas and I definitely recommend checking them out. I also use the matching Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on lipliner in “Frenemy”

2. “Twitch” (cream) Vice lipstick by Urban Decay- I love this beautiful purple color. It’s not too dark, it’s not too light. It’s the perfect purple lipstick. With this color, I don’t wear lip liner all the time but when I do, I use  Urban Decay 24/7 glide on lipliner in”Pandemonium.”

3. “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” Velour liquid lipstick from Jeffree Star Cosmetics- last year I did a “Breakfast at Tiffany’s shoot and the last few photos I had shot, I put this lipstick on. I thought it would be fun and those pictures looked really cool with it on. One of my favorite films, if not my favorite of all time is “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” and I love how this lipstick is the exact shade of Tiffany’s bags and box packaging. If you haven’t seen my Breakfast at Tiffany’s shoot, definitely check it out here.

4. “Venus Flytrap” Velour liquid lipstick from Jeffree Star Cosmetics (Chrome Collection)- I’ve used this fabulous green chartreuse color many times A LOT in makeup tutorials and looks. Some might think how or why would you wear this color but that’s just because you’re unique, like to stand out, and are fabulous.

5. “Trinket” liquid lip color by Sugarpill- In my December Hits/Misses youtube video, I talked about buying and wearing this color and it was definitely a HIT for me. If you haven’t done so already, please go check that youtube vid out on my youtube channel and I posted it here in December as well. “Trinket” is  Sugarpill’s very first liquid lipstick, and has a sexy Matte to Sparkle formula. The color is a matte mauve infused with luminous golden sparkles that stay and become more bright as the formula dries. I love the pigment and how it is very long-lasting and never feels too dry.

Most of you know I rarely wear lip gloss on a daily basis but the I do have few that I absolutely love wearing, either by itself on top of regular lipstick.

Here are my favorite glosses and toppers:

1. “Melted Honey” by Chanel- This sparkly gold gloss is so sexy and looks very sexy on when worn alone. It also looks hot when you have a lipstick on already, like a dark red or purple, and then apply the gloss in just the center of your lips.

2. “Rose Gold” lip topper by Jouer Cosmetics- Jouer has the best lip toppers. My Rose Gold is stunning and again very sexy. The glitter and color is very pigmented and doesn’t feel sticky. It smells yummy too, like caramel. Like with my Chanel gloss, this lip topper looks wickedly sexy alone or on top of lipstick.

Hope you enjoyed reading my list of lipsticks and my reviews on them. I definitely recommend checking out every color I speak about in all three parts of my “Power of Lipstick” series. Thank you so much.
