Red Kimono Photoshoot

I’ve been wanting to do this photoshoot for awhile now and yesterday I finally got to do it and am so happy with the results. My inspiration was my beautiful kimono mixed with one of Dita Von Teese’s performances, “Opium Den,” which is the costume she was wearing when I first met her.  This particular performance definitely inspired me in this shoot and I felt like I was channeling a bit of Dita. I even donned her lingerie under my robe.

I love these photos and a huge thank you to my guy Nima Sorat for shooting me. I hope you all enjoy my burlesque kimono photos.

Issue 9, Spring Passion Pinups

The Spring Issue of Passion Pinups Is finally here and I’m so happy that I got featured again. You can see my name and what page number 28. wink wink. The first issue I did for Passion Pinups was the winter holiday issue last year which featured me on the front cover. I loved being on the front. If you haven’t seen my holiday winter issue last year definitely check it out here. And I’m excited to report that I have my photo in the centerfold of this issue.

I’ve become good friends with Chrissy( Kittens) Blake, the creator of Passion and I’ve told everyone on here how sweet she is. She know’s I’m an artist so you asked if I could send her a few photos of my pieces because she wanted to feature and  showcase my art which I thought that was so cool of her. I ended up sending her a print two of my new deck that I just created, images from my latest Victorian Steampunk jewelry/trinket box, and an oval creation that I loved making and have hanging in my vanity area That’s just a couple of the many reasons why I enjoy being part of Passion Pinups.

Here are some of my spring photos, you might recognize some of fascinators from my wonderful friend Debra Shirley because I used her floral  but they were perfect for spring. I hope you enjoy the little teaser.

Glamorous and Rock and Roll Book Recommendations

I love going to book shops. I don’t like kindle very much. Especially for certain books of mine, I like to dog ear chapters or pages that I know will help me a lot. Anyways, I went through my book collection and I wanted to share some recommendations if you who want to get into burlesque, want to read on how to create vintage, besides, pinup looks, for beginners or even if you’re not a beginner, all these books have great writing, great tips and ideas, detailed instructions on how to create the different hair and makeup looks, get some Rock and Roll tips and stories, and more.

I have already reviewed Dita Von Teese’s,” Your Beauty Mark” in a huge article review on her book as well as a huge review on the book “Audrey Style” by Pamela Clarke Keogh. Please make sure to read the reviews I did on those two books and leave your likes and comments on it and follow my site if you haven’t already.

Thank you and here are some of my top favorite books that I recommend for you. Hope you enjoy them and even if you only check out one of the books and read it, you’ll love it and will help you on your vintage, pinup, and glamour journey.

1. “It’s All That Glitters, Portraits of Burlesque Performers in Their Homes.” You’ll love this book, it’s the most stunning and glam households book I own.

2. “The Burlesque Handbook” by Headmistress Jo Weldon. If you want to get into the gorgeous performing sisterhood, this is the book for you. It is the perfect book for beginners and it Jo teaches all her signature tricks and has some great anecdotes. This was the first book I bought when I want to start the art of Burlesque. Even if you have been performing burlesque, you might want to still check out this book for extra stunts, tips, tricks, and more from the stunning HeadMistress Jo Weldon.

3. “Vintage Beauty Parlor” This is a great book to help you achieve flawless hair and make up in iconic and vintage styles.

4. “Style Me Vintage” (Step by Step Retro Look Book) This is one of the best books for beginners in vintage and pinup.

5. For the Rock and Roll chicks who want some extra wicked tips if they want to be in the music scene, dress like they are, and a lot more, check out “Cherry Bomb.” It’s an awesome book.

HOPE YOU CHECK OUT THESE BOOKS AND ENJOY THEM. TAKE THE STORIES AND TIPS THAT YOU LIKE AND THAT ARE USEFUL, DISREGARD THE INFORMATION THAT DOESN’T NECESSARILY PERTAIN TO YOU, AND ENJOY THESE FABULOUS READS!!!!

“Victorian Private Show Lady” Photo Shoot Part 2

For part 2 of this shoot, my inspiration was still the “Victorian Lady” theme obviously but I wanted to dress and pose how a burlesque dancer from the early 1900’s would’ve dressed. I definitely did my research on this considering burlesque is a major passion of mine but I also took inspiration from one of my favorite television shows, “Murdoch Mysteries,” which is a brilliant Canadian show that I recommend to everyone.

I love the second hat fascinator from Debra Shirley and it worked perfectly with my Victorian corset, my fishnets that I stoned myself, and my other accessories. I wanted to do both outside and inside shots since this is a little bit more of a “PEEK A BOO” shoot but still “CLASSY AS ALWAYS!” That’s a true burlesque performer.

I’m in love with my Favorite Hollywood Glam Pinup/ Burlesque “Terminally Delightful” Drag Queen, Miss BenDeLaCreme

d183f004-4cb5-42b6-a96e-a083d9c8c02c-bendelacremeas3

In my article “My Top Three Favorite Drag Queens,” I didn’t include the fabulous Ben De La Creme because even though she is definitely one of my all time favorite drag queens, I felt she needed an article post all to herself.

Here is a little information about Ben de la creme and why I love her:

First off, when I first saw her on RuPaul’s drag race, she came out and introduced herself and stated that Ben de la creme  is “terminally delightful” which I thought was brilliant. I instantly loved her look and fashion and fell in love immediately with her personality. Because of her wonderful personality, she won “Miss Congeniality” on Season 6.  Every time I watch anything with De La, she instantly makes my smile and laugh, whether I’m in a sad mood or not.

Another reason I love DeLa is because her performances include COMEDY, BURLESQUE, (WHICH OF COURSE I LOVE AND AM OBSESSED WITH BECAUSE I’M A BURLESQUE PERFORMER AS WELL) and ALL AROUND GLAMOUR, including PINUP GLAMOUR, (WHICH OF COURSE IS RIGHT UP MY ALLEY TOO!)

I wish Ben De La Creme was my brother or my sister because of all the things we  have in common. He is so gorgeous as a man and as a woman.

ONE OF MY WISHES AND GOALS IS TO DO A DOUBLE BURLESQUE STYLE ROUTINE WITH BEN DE LA CREME AND TO DO A DOUBLE HOLLYWOOD PINUP SHOOT WITH HER!

I CAN’T WAIT TO MEET Ben De La Creme at RUPAUL’S DRAG CON in Los Angeles in May!

Behind the Scenes Teaser

Normally I never really show behind the scene pictures on here unless I really enjoyed the shoot. This last shoot I did I really enjoyed. It was a photographer named Hamayak Hakopian or “Hami” that I had shot with a lot in the past but hadn’t seen in a few years. We always kept in contact but with our schedules, it was hard to book a shoot. Finally a few weeks ago we did. We shot at Lumino Studios, where I did my pinup Valentine’s shoot, and our shoot took place in the Emerald Room of the studio house, perfect for me since that’s my birthstone.

I had such a nice time with him. He brought in an EXTREMELY TALENTED Hair Stylist who brought my curls to life named Elisa Lara who was such a darling. I donned a new emerald green corset, appropriate for where I was shooting, my swarovski crytal fishnet stockings and my 7 and a half tall dance stiletto booties with matching crystals. I felt absolutely beautiful in my burlesque wear.

Hami is such a sweet and very professional photographer and I enjoy our work relationship a lot. I’m so excited to see the actual shots from this shoot. In the meantime, I decided to give you all a little tease. Elisa took some behind the scene shots of me while I was getting photographed and I loved the look of them so much that I decided to post them here to get you all ready for the actual photoshoot images. Enjoy!
