New Fashion Favorites

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year. This is my first post of 2018 and I wanted to show some new fashion items I bought for myself this past season. I think it’s important to treat yourself. You of course need to prioritize and make sure the important things in your life are taken care of and paid off first such as bills, rent, mortgage, car payments, etc. You can find similar things to these below items at most clothing stores or online. You just need to keep your eyes open which makes shopping more fun.

Hermes Scarf- Hermes is an extraordinary designer brand. If you don’t know anything about them, definitely look them up. What I can tell you quickly though is that Hermes is French and is one of the most expensive brands ever and screams luxury and classic.  They are famous for their hand stitched handbags such as  the popular, “Birkin”
and “Kelly,” which I will hopefully getting a red one soon”

One of my favorite things from them are their scarves, which I eventually want to have a collection of, and was excited to buy a new one. They came in a variety of colors and patterns as well as sizes. They change the look of any outfit and you automatically feel luxurious when you wear one. I love how this reptile inspired pattern bright this scarf is with vibrant orange and red with a touch of blue. The pattern reminds me of a snake. Even if you wear it with an outfit in all black, it will pop and make a statement. One of the coolest things is when you buy an Hermes scarf is that they give you a set of mini cards with illustrations and pictures of creative ways to wear your scarf Like I said before, Hermes is in no ways cheap but will always be in style and the quality of their items will last forever.

Leather shorts and Thigh High Boots- These two things are one of my favorite things I bought this past season. I’m obsessed. I had been wanting to buy thigh high boots for awhile, especially since my other black boots got completely worn out and was so excited I found this pair at Macy’s which was a surprise. They have a thick heel and are very comfortable and easy to walk in, even if you don’t wear  high heels a lot. I definitely recommend checking some cool boots out for yourself. I found these shorts online actually and they are so comfortable and can be worn during any season. I love pairing opaque stockings under my shorts and it keeps me nice and warm. Wearing my thigh high boots with my leather shorts is the perfect combination.

New handbags- I have two new handbags to share which are the complete opposite of each other. One is a beautiful vintage embroidery handbag with floral detailing. It has dividing pockets inside it which is great at keeping your purse stuff organized. I saw a variety of color combinations in this purse but the gold and gray one was my favorite. The other one is a metal alloy abstract stone cut clutch. I was instantly drawn to this. It looks very high fashion and is made to look like an abstract cut gem. It reminds me of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” video. The best thing about this clutch is that it is small for a night out but big enough to fit my iPhone in which is something that I struggle with when small evening bags. It comes with a chain strap also so you can wear it different ways.

Thank you for letting me share all of these with you. What are some of your favorite fashion items?

Here’s my quick 60’s mod makeup look and hair do that I did today while running errands getting last minute stuff for my Dublin trip. Here’s my video tutorial on how I did my makeup and my sexy bouffant. I said this in the video but I wanted to say it here too that the makeup I used and talk about is just for inspiration. What I mean by that is that you don’t have to use the exact same brand of eyeshadow or foundation, etc. to achieve the same look.

I did include the colors, brands, and products I used below in case you were curious.

Enjoy the video and if you want me to do a tutorial for my hair do here or if you have any ideas for makeup or hair looks that you want me to show and do a tutorial on, please feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments below or under my video on my youtube channel.

Also please subscribe to my youtube channel if you haven’t already and always follow me on my site here if you haven’t already for updates.

My Top Favorite Accessory Brands

In the past on my blog I’ve mentioned many things about accessorizing and that the right accessories can completely change your outfit and/or look. These are my top favorite brands to get all my favorite accessories, from pinup and vintage style to sexy boudoir, and high fashion.  I strongly recommend all these brands and think that everyone will enjoy them.

(Quick side note,  as many of you know, especially if you have been reading my blog for awhile now, I’ve mentioned, written, and modeled in photoshoots while reviewing fantastic companies such as Sourpuss Clothing, Hellbunny, and Kreepsville 666, which are also my favorite brands, so I decided to not include them here in this post because they will be in another article soon about my favorite clothing brands, and I have also done past blog posts about them but I love all their accessories besides the labels I mention below.)

1. Betsey Johnson- Betsey Johnson’s accessories can DEFINITELY change on how an outfit looks and can make it POP! I can’t even remember when I first fell in love with Betsey because it was so long ago. She makes the most creative and unique pieces, from her clothing to purses, to her fabulous jewelry. I’ve honestly have never seen anything from her that I didn’t love. Her jewelry pieces are probably my favorite from her. Both my mom and I collect her jewelry. Any kind of animal, theme, or popular images such as skulls, anchors, etc., she has made.

I had to include a few pictures of Betsey’s items because I have so much stuff from her. The pictures are just a small taste to my collection. I also included my leopard purse from her because it was the first Betsey Johnson purse I ever got years ago from my incredible and wonderful mom. You can find Betsey’s stuff in stores such as Macy’s or online. If you are on a budget and/or can’t afford Betsey Johnson, I definitely recommend her other brand, BetseyVille. Betseyville has very pretty and wonderful items as well and is more affordable.

2. Bettie Page shoes (From Ellie Shoes)- This is one of my favorite shoe brands. They are a vintage inspired and pinup shoe line. They have a HUGE selection of heels in every color and also have the cutest designs such as polka dots and flowers. They come in all different heel sizes so if you don’t want six inch heels, you can get a pair with wedges instead or a three inch heel. Bettie Page shoes are also Extremely comfortable. They have built in cushions which allow you to wear them all day long. Below is my sexy pair of red Bettie heels.

3. Agent Provocateur- This lingerie line has the most beautiful lingerie. I remember the first time I ever walked into their shop. They had to fit me for my underwear and the ladies who helped me were the sweetest. It was the one of the best customer service I’ve ever had. It’s definitely not a cheap brand by any means and is a very luxurious line. Even though Agent Provocateur can be expensive, the quality of their lingerie is amazing and will last you a very long time. My two lingerie sets below are from when I lived in San Francisco and discovered their store for the first time which was about fourteen years ago, and it’s still in great shape. You can go online to find store locations as well as buy from their sexy website.

4. Lux De Ville- Lux De ville makes absolutely fabulous retro and vintage style handbags as well as train cases and wallets. Their bags look like the vinyl inside of a 1950’s car and comes in all different colors and styles. They also have a shine and sparkle to them. They recently came out with a Black Widow collection which is all spiderwebs. I love the quality of their bags. One of my favorite things about them is that they come with cute keychains to attach to the handles.

Tips and Tricks for Growing out Bangs

Most of you remember when I first got my “Bettie Bangs,” cut earlier this year. Now that they are growing out, I decided to post some tips on quick and easy ways on how to style and wear your bangs if you decide to grow them out and when they happen to be in that awkward stage before getting long again. Some of these looks are more of a cool retro way of wearing your hair.

Note: These styles work best on straight or slightly wavy bangs. If your bangs are really curly, I recommend quickly straightening them first..

1. TURN THEM INTO A POMPADOUR- Push all bangs forward and comb them so they are straight with no part. Then while holding them, gently tease them with a fine tooth comb to give them a little volume. Tease them as much as you want but make sure you’re holding the end of your bangs so no pieces fall. Then take some hair spray and spray on both sides of the bangs, on the teased part as well as the smoother part. Use your fingers or a smoothing brush to gently smooth out the hair. Gently do this so you don’t lose any volume. Then pull your bangs back to the top of your hair and pin with a bobby pin or small clip. This gives you a quick rockabilly type style.

2. HEADBANDS- A Head band is the perfect accessory when growing out bangs. For retro 60’s type of look, place your headband over your bangs, pushing them back. Then with the rest of your hair, using a rat tooth comb, tease the crown of your head as well as the sides. Spray all the teased sections and gently smooth with a soft smoothing brush.

3. TWISTING TO THE SIDE- First brush your bangs to the side. Find your pomade and rub a dime size amount between your fingers to warm up the product. Twist you bangs and push them to the side. Once you get to the end of your bangs, take a small section of hair near the side of the face and twist them so they connect with your bangs. Pin with a bobby pin and push forward your hair to cover it up. Place a decorative clip over it if desired.

4. HAIR DECORATIONS-  Decorative hair clips and small flowers can definitely be your friend when styling you awkward/or growing out bangs. Simply push you bangs to the side and attach with  pretty clip or a flower hair accessory that has a clasp clip on the back. You can also attach other pretty and different themed charms to them. Have fun with this.
