New Products I love and a new favorite shop of mine!

In this video I talk about a new boutique I went to for the first time today plus new products that I absolutely love and a few that I’m not thrilled with but are ok.  I posted photos of the new products I love! Enjoy!

NEW PRODUCTS I LOVE!:

I forgot to mention this two products I love in my video above so I’m going to start with those:

1. BOSCIA Detoxifying Black Cleanser- This product is amazing and is a cleanser that is warm when applied that deeply cleanses, detoxifies, and dissolves impurities, makeup, and oil. It also refines the texture of your skin and the more you use it, the more it brightens your skin clarity and minimizes the look of pores over time. It works fast too which I always love when it comes to beauty products.

2. SHISEIDO Paper Blotters- This are perfect if you find your skin looking a little shiny or oily throughout the day. Instead of caking on more powder, you just simply take one sheet of these papers and with the powder side, simply blot any shiny areas. These make life a lot easier.

3. Hollywood California GLAMGLOW FLASHMUD BRIGHTENING TREATMENT- I love this new product but will talk all about it in my next post here coming up. Stay tuned!

4. THINK PINK PALETTE BY COASTAL SCENTS- Gorgeous palette with both matte and shimmer colors. Can be used wet or dry and the pigments are bright and lovely.

5. SHISEIDO IBUKI SMART FILTERING SMOOTHER- This is an amazing product to smooth and blur anything you don’t want seen on your face such as large pores and more. It can be used under and on top of makeup.

6. SHISEIDO  BIO-PERFORMANCE  SUPER CORRECTIVE EYE CREAM-  This is a great eye cream and can be used day at night for helping any fine lines or patchiness.

7. LOREAL AGE PERFECT EYE RENEWAL- Another great eye cream that can be used day and night and really moisturizes and makes your eyes bright, dewy, and glow while getting rid of any fine lines you don’t want.

8. LAURA MERCIER TRANSLUCENT LOOSE SETTING POWDER- My new favorite loose setting powder. It’s like magic and even though it’s a little on the high price side, it’s absolutely worth it and a little of it goes a long way when you apply it so it lasts a long time.

9. BUMBLE AND BUMBLE THICKENING HAIRSPRAY- I love the brand Bumble and Bumble and was very excited to try their new spray. It has a great hold without leaving your hair stiff.

My Baby Sister Caitlin

Ok so there is a brand new girl at my job and she is a makeup artist and beauty coordinator like me. She started at my job a few weeks ago but since I was in Vegas for one of the weeks, I didn’t meet her until yesterday and immediately it was love at first sight. Her name is Caitlin and during our morning meeting, I noticed her right away; her raven black hair, red lipstick, alabaster skin.  I was thinking that this girl looks amazing. Once the meeting was over and work was about to start, Caitlin came up to me and said that she was so happy that there was another girl in cosmetics with a similar style to her. I told her I felt the same way. We laughed and chatted a bit about some of the same things we liked and I decided we were kindred spirits. We then started telling people we were sisters because we almost looked exactly the same. It was a lot of fun tricking some of the woman there and I think Caitlin will continue to tell people that we are sisters cause even though I just met her, I feel like she is my sis. Work was definitely fun.

I wanted to blog about her not only because she is awesome, but because she represents a lot of the themes I have to my blog such as, she is a rock and roll chick like me, has a sexy alternative style, (Clothing and makeup,) we share the love for the same bands, OUR LOVE FOR THE HORROR GENRE, AND more. The fact the we have both been to the same goth style bars such as “Bar Sinister,” in L.A, love the same music, and love the gothic scene, and more, is amazing.

I did a little video of her to introduce her and I’m sure I’ll blog about her soon but thought you would love these beautiful photos of us and video of Caitlin.

Make sure to check out her amazing photos on her instagram,  https://www.instagram.com/caitlinmaxsonn/?hl=en

Love you girl and THANK YOU CAITLIN FOR THE “FOUND MY TWIN, snap chat photo!

Feature on Natasha

IMG_0528

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a feature showcasing a specific person and their bio, likes/dislikes, their fashion style, and music so I felt like it was about time to do a new one. This feature is about the lovely Natasha. This  19 year old beauty resides in Northern Ireland and I first met her through social media and instantly knew she was a cool girl with a wicked sense of style and had a lot of the same interests as me such as our mutual  love of horror movies (ESPECIALLY FREDDY KRUEGER AND JASON, which of course are two of my favorite all time horror characters especially Freddy), similar music tastes, and more.

I had asked Natasha some questions and asked her to put together a little bio of herself and she knocked it out of the park. Here is her story.

” I’m considered the black sheep of the family when it comes to my fashion sense,” she says. If she had to explain her fashion style, it would be very rock & roll, metal, and a bit of goth thrown into the mix. “My music taste is basically  the same as my fashion, which includes Guns and Roses, Meatloaf, HIM, and Night Wish just to name a few.” Green day also made a big influence in my early teen years. Oh and Elvis is my first love.”

“God I couldn’t begin to describe my love of horror movies and horror icons. Freddy and Jason are definitely in my top ten faves,”  which is definitely a girl after my own heart.

As I was reading more of Natasha’s bio I was excited to learn more and more about her.  For example, she is a tattoo and piercer apprentice. I used to be a piercer a long time  ago so it was so cool to find out another thing the two of us have in common.  This is how she describes her work, “My art work is of a fantasy horror type so it’s an aquired taste, but it makes the “normals” look again at my work which I love.”

Here are some fantastic photos that Natasha sent me. She explained to me that her and her family are very big Halloween freaks and when they dress up for it, they either are in horror or comedy costumes. “Hence the KISS photo from a few years back, and the Freddy Krueger costume I wore last year and it was my first time working with FX makeup.” I love how she did it.

So here’s my girl Natasha’s feature which I really enjoyed doing. A big shout out “THANK YOU,” to her! To see more of her, find her on INSTAGRAM UNDER HER COOL SCREEN NAME, DEVILS_REJECTS_.

I love my friend Dirk Vermin

I just got today another video from Dirk Vermin. In this vid, it made me feel so good cause he knows I’m not just a fan of his, well I still am, haha, but we’ve become good friends now and he said that on his vid so it definitely made me smile, especially after the week I had.

I’m planning my Las Vegas trip soon and going out with him for lots of drinks and tattoo fun. I’m so glad I met him and he’s been a wonderful friend, supporter of my work, and more. I’ll be seeing him in the fun desert of Vegas soon! 😉

Weekly Movies That Inspire Me,CRY-BABY

07363My hubby came out with this cool concept for my blog here which is to post weekly films that inspire me style wise, in art, in inspirational quotes, and more. I know you’ve seen my past blog posts about horror films and clothing that inspire me but I wanted this to be  a little different. These films I’m going to post are for inspiration whether it’s a makeup look, a time period, fashion, music, or other things. I do get my personal style from many different formats.

This weeks film pick is JOHN WATER’S, CRY-BABY! I’ve loved this film since I was little. How can you not love Johnny Depp as a sexy DRAPE? I love the fashion style of this film set in 1960, with a greaser and rockabilly look that is very hot and sexy and I would wear every DRAPE outfit in the movie, especially compared to the boring straight-laced sick WIFFLE boys.

One of the best lines in CRYBABY is when Ricki Lake says to pretty square Alison for the first time meeting her saying, “First thing a Cry baby girl learns is, our busoms are our weapons.” Classic line.  And when the girls give Alison her a bad beauty makeup look was awesome.

Besides the awesome fashion style, the music soundtrack is amazing and I love John Waters. If you haven’t seen this cult classic film, it’s definitely a must-see!

Never Mind the Bollocks…..

jrshirt1.jpg

I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love the Sex Pistols. Of course I started with their album, “Never Mind the Bollocks, here comes the Sex Pistols,” and went on from there. Most people had a crazy crush on the bass player, Sid Vicious and know the crazy story of “Sid and Nancy,” which is a great film starring the young Gary Oldman, but I always like Mr. Johnny Rotten more. Even thought he has had the reputation of being well, “Rotten,” hence his last name, he is one talented star. I was fortunate to see the Sex Pistols at their last concert years ago and after all the years of them performing and being crazy, they still rocked and put on a bad ass punk rock show. It was an amazing experience. I decided to honor Mr. Rotten and the Sex Pistols today by showing off my new awesome shirt. I lost my old Johnny shirt years ago after the show so felt the need to replace it. And I love it.
