My Top Three Favorite Drug Store Skin Care of 2019

Ok so we all know that I love using Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner from the local shop and that Soap & Glory Cosmetics is one of my favorite brands in general and definitely my top favorite drugstore skin care brand but this year I’ve developed three new brands that I discovered this year that I’m madly in love with.

1. E.l.f Cosmetics: I’ve really fallen in love with E.l.f this year and their Hydration is absolutely wonderful and is perfect for not just traveling but for anytime the weather is cold or your face is feeling a little dry. My favorite is the illuminating eye cream and is actually a great dupe for Origins Ginzing eye brightening cream that I love. Their putty primer is also absolutely amazing.

2. Wet n’ Wild Rebel Rose Skincare: Oh my gawd, if you haven’t already watched them, I did a review of the ENTIRE Wet n’ Wild Rebel Collection. Here are the two parts of the collection because there was so much to go to. Make sure to check out my two part Rebel Rose series up on my  youtube channel. (Showing off the skincare is in part one.)

Besides the whole concept of this collection, I was so excited to be one of the first people to try their Rebel Rose skincare which is the first time Wet n’ Wild had come out with skincare. I absolutely love it. There isn’t one piece from that skincare collection that I was disappointed with and the products work great. I definitely recommend it.

3. Pacifica Beauty: I know I’ve mentioned them in past videos and reviews but I had to mention them again. I love the Pacifica skincare and like that it uses mostly natural ingredients. I just bought their cherry matte setting spray and I am really enjoying it. Here it is below:

All their products I’ve tried have been wonderful such as the serums, face mists, face wash, lotions, etc., but my all time favorite skincare product by them is the Pacifica Gem Water Crystal Infused Micellar Water. I’ve definitely mentioned that product before and I have to again but it works so well. Of course I automatically love it because of the crystals in it but it works extremely well in getting rid of stubborn makeup, including chunky glitters, and is a nice toner to cleanse the skin.

How to get Flawless Skin for Summer in between 5 and 10 minutes

I’m writing this post as yet another collaboration with my girl Sarah aka lifewithlilred.com. If you haven’t seen our past collabs, definitely type in her name into my search bar and check us out. For my new subscribers who may not know this, she was the first girl I met when I started bombshell and we’ve been great girlfriends since then. And by the way Sarah, we must skype again soon so we can plan you coming to visit me. hehe.

Anyways, Sarah likes getting other bloggers to collab with her for certain topics. For example, this article I’m writing for her and I is about SUMMER, whether it’s makeup tips, the best places to go to the beach, travel, etc. which I think is a great idea and I think I’m going to be doing that more on my sites.

My summer topic is how to get flawless skin for Summer super quickly. For this, you will need your favorite powder foundations, a Kabuki Brush, a cream concealer, and possibly a brightening powder and a waterproof setting powder. No setting spray this time. I’ll be taking you step by step and my product recommendations for this look.

OH ONE MORE THING, this quick way of having flawless skin isn’t only for summer. When I travel and want to do site seeing, I don’t usually want to fuss with wetting a beauty blender and applying liquid foundation and then having to set it before it creases. I safe my higher end full face makeup looks for special occasions, like if I have dinner reservations at a fancy restaurant.

Ok here we go.

First step: is to have your face washed and toned (duh) and apply a nice moisturizer that isn’t to thick and is for the day time.

Second step: Take your kabuki brush and your loose powder foundation. I love Bare Minerals loose original powder, from when Bare Minerals first launched, or their loose Matte Bare Minerals foundation powder. For my Kabuki Brush, my favorite one is also from Bare Minerals but feel free to use whatever kabuki brush you want. You can find them everywhere. I just like the Bare Minerals one because it holds the product really well because of it’s shape so you don’t have to use very much product. Open the lid to your loose foundation powder, pour a little into the lid, take your kabuki brush and swirl the product onto the brush. Tap any excess and swirl and buff the powder into your face all over. (OH AND ANOTHER REASON I LIKE BARE MINERALS, ESPECIALLY FOR SUMMER IS THAT IT HAS SUNSCREEN IN IT SO IT MAKES YOUR FACE SAFE FROM THE SUN AND FLAWLESS AT THE SAME TIME!)

Third Step: Take your concealer and touch up any imperfections, like pimples or dark circles by dotting it right on. For this, I recommend Studio Fix Concealer by MAC. After you finish concealing, take your compact or powder puff with the powder foundation and press it into the areas where you applied the concealer. Make sure not to smear the concealer. You can use your loose foundation powder or for more coverage, I recommend Studio Fix Powder Foundation Compact from MAC. After you set the concealer, take your kabuki brush and blend in a tiny bit more of your foundation powder so everything looks seamlessly. (That’s one of the great benefits of powder foundation, even if you mess up or have to retouch during the day, it’s so much easier than having to remove half of your face or dig through your tote for liquid foundation or setting powder.)

Last Step: You are done making your skin look flawless for summer! I don’t recommend setting spray with the powders because if you do need to reapply throughout the day, the areas you sprayed can leave creases where it might be hard to get that flawless look.

Here are some additional tips and tricks that you can add to this routine but it’s just optional. If your eyes still have dark circles underneath after you’ve already applied you concealer and powder, you can use a brightening powder for under your eyes. My go to is the “Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes,” by Laura Mercier. Also if you plan on going swimming and want to make sure your easy flawless skin look will last, I recommend the Urban Decay “All Nighter” waterproof setting powder.

Hope you all enjoyed these tips, tricks, and short routine on how to get flawless summer skin in under ten minutes.

Upcoming products I will be reviewing soon!

This morning, I’m leaving for Boston but when I return, these are the products I plan on trying out. I’ve already tried the glosses which I’m packing in my makeup bag and I’ll probably try out the Tokyo Milk “French Marie Antoinette” lip balm and maybe the Elf primer but there’s no way I’m bringing my new Anastasia of Beverly Hills, “Alyssa Edwards” palette because I’d been waiting for it and it arrived last night and I will not risk it cracking in my bag. I’m sure I’ll have more to show and review besides what’s in the picture here. See you when I return!

Sunday Morning Coffee Chat, Why Skincare is so IMPORTANT

IMG_9587

Good morning everyone. It’s 8:08 am here and having my coffee out of my BRAND NEW “Fueled by Crystals and Coffee,” which is perfect and I’m so glad I found it because you all know I collect crystals and do crystal magic. I also am an avid coffee mug collector.

Today’s Sunday Morning Coffee Chat is important. You all know I have A LOT of beauty and makeup knowledge from learning things on my own, learning different products and their ingredients, working in cosmetics, etc, and it seems to me that the vast majority of younger girls and boys like teenagers/early 20’s care more about makeup than actually taking care of their skin. They don’t usually have a skincare routine, or won’t wash their makeup off before bed which is my BIGGEST MAKEUP PET PEEVE.

Here’s a perfect example, when I worked in cosmetics at Macy’s, there were two girls who one was 19 who wore so much makeup I thought she was 40 and the other girl was 20. Both of them are sweet girls, that I’m still in contact with and I’M DEFINITELY NOT BASHING THEM,  but they both always wore so much makeup to work, which makes sense because we are dealing with makeup and beauty, and one of them admitted to me she rarely ever washes her face before she goes to bed, not even with a makeup remover wipe which aren’t always the best at getting everything off either. I was very grossed out hearing that. After the two girls quit, they came into visit and neither of them had no makeup on at all and both of their faces had MASSIVE BREAKOUTS. The cause of that is mainly if not completely, not washing your face before bed and have a skincare routine.

No matter your age, the sooner you get into a good skincare routine and learn basic skin issues like how to not cause breakouts, the better. My mom, who at 65 has beautiful skin with not botox or fillers, taught me at a very young age to always take care of my skin and if I had any breakouts, I knew how to clear them up fast because of how my mom taught me and those tips and tricks she shared with me, I still use to this day.

The last important thing about why you should always take care of your skin, which by the way, if you don’t know your skin type or don’t know how to take care of your skin, go to a dermatologist. There is nothing wrong with that, they are all over, and they don’t cost a lot to see. The last important thing is that the more your skin is fresh and clear and smooth, you won’t have to cake on the makeup as much if ever, and it will shorten your beauty routine and save your some money on makeup. Face makeup is to cover imperfections but if you don’t have any, why waste your time and money using it?

Anyways everyone, thank you for checking out another edition to “Sunday Morning Coffee Chat” with Carlie. Wishing everyone a magical and beautiful day.

ENJOY! XOXO

Here’s a BIG TIP AND TRICK to BOUNCE BACK YOUR SKIN

images

You all know I try ON A LOT OF BEAUTY PRODUCTS and doing MANY BEAUTY REVIEWS. Anyone who wears or tries a lot of skincare and makeup products that they have never tried before and don’t know how they’ll react to your other products and skin need to remember that not all products you try will react perfectly with you skin.

If you notice your skin getting dry, dull, noticing new acne popping up, etc., IMMEDIATELY STOP USING YOUR NEW PRODUCTS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE USING A BUNCH OF PRODUCTS AT ONCE. ESPECIALLY ONES THAT YOU’VE NEVER HEARD ABOUT BEFORE AND/OR JUST STARTED USING.

After you stop using the beauty products that are affecting your skin in a negative way, go back to your normal skincare routine. This will definitely balance and bounce your skin back extremely fast right after you stop testing your beauty products.

******ALSO YOU MUST ALWAYS STAY HYDRATED! DRINK WATER AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. I’M NOT SAYING OVERLOAD YOUR KIDNEYS BUT WATER IS THE FASTEST WAY TO GET YOUR SKIN LOOKING BACK TO NORMAL AND HEALTHY.

HOPE THIS BIG TIP AND TRICK HELPS YOU ALL! IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS, LIVE THEM BELOW!  THANK YOU FOR READING AND FOLLOWING MY PAGE HERE!! LOTS OF LOVE!

Updated Nighttime Skincare Routine

I start my nighttime routine with makeup remover. I use Garnier Cleansing Micellar Water which my friend recommended awhile ago to me and I still love using. It’s gentle on the eyes and lips. There are different versions of this remover depending on your skin type but my favorite is the pink one that is great for all skin types. I take a cotton pad and soak it in the remover. Then I gently place it on my closed eye for a few seconds. Then I gently wipe away my eye makeup. Your eyes and the skin around them are very delicate so you need to always be careful and never be harsh to your skin. I then remove the rest of my makeup.

Next I use my “Fresh Soy Face Cleanser,” which I’ve also used for a long time. I think it was the first product from “Fresh” I ever bought and I’m very glad I did. It’s also safe and gentle on the eyes and lips. (By the way, I know I’m mentioning Fresh products a lot in this and my previous post, but it’s because I really love and believe in their brand and a lot of the things I have from them, I’ve used for awhile and they still work really well for me. Fresh isn’t the only good skincare line out there.   There are a HUGE amount of brands out there for all skin types and in all different price ranges.)

My next step changes depending on the day, like how I switch off my exfoliator and cleanser in my morning routine. One day I’ll use the “Fresh Deep Hydration Facial Toner” and the next day I love using the “Fresh Rose Face Mask.” This is my favorite mask and you can use it daily if you want to. It tones and hydrates your complexion, has real rose petals that literally melt into your skin, and is very soothing.

My last step is to moisturize. For my eye cream I use, can you guess, “Fresh Rose Hydrating Eye Gel Cream.” For the rest of my face, my go to is my “Beauty Sleep Accelerator, Night and Flight Moisture Miracle,” by another brand that I’ve mentioned a lot in the past and love, “Soap and Glory.” It’s a wonderful product, especially if your skin tends to get dry. It’s also the perfect moisturizer if you travel a lot, which can dry out your skin. I love the clean smell of it and it’s not expensive at all.

Usually twice a week or more, depending on the weather, I like using a night treatment. I don’t need to use my normal moisturizer if I’m doing a treatment. I usually use Glamglow. My favorite is the “Glamglow Dreamduo, Overnight Transforming Treatment.” It adds collagen and plumps up your skin. I also like the blue “Glamglow Thirsty Mud Hydrating Treatment.” It deeply hydrates and replenishes the complexion.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that this can hopefully give you ideas if you’re wanting to change up your own skin care routine or just want to try new products out.

Updated Morning Skincare Routine

As many people do, I’ve updated my skincare routine, since I last talked about it a while ago. Your skin changes over time and the products you use might not be as effective as before. The weather and the seasons also play a big factor in your complexion causing you to maybe change up your routine with new products specifically for that time of the year. With that said, there are products that I have used for a long time that still work very well for me so it can definitely vary. Everything I use in both my morning and nighttime routines I will list below of course and are products I believe in and I recommend all of them to try. My skin is definitely happy with how it looks.

I switch off on two products I start with in the morning. One day I’ll start with “Boscia detoxifying black cleanser” and the next day I use “Origins Ginzing refreshing scrub cleanser.” Depending on your skin, you might not want to exfoliate  more than once or twice a week, especially if it’s a harsher scrub like St. Ives. The ginzing scrub is extremely gentle so I can exfoliate and not worry that it’s going to tear up my skin.

After cleansing, I use a toner to get rid of any impurities that might still be lingering and it  preps and clarifies your complexion. You probably already know my toner that I absolutely in love with which is, “Fresh Rose Floral Toner.” Fresh is my favorite skincare line, especially the rose collection. This toner is amazing and it is very calming and hydrating on the skin.

My next step is moisturize. This changes for me. If I’m going to use a primer that  has moisturizing properties such as “Bobbi Brown’s Vitamin-Enriched Face Base” or “Stila’s One Step Correct,” I don’t need an extra moisturizer. They can be used as both a moisturizer and primer. If you are using a primer that’s not as moisturizing, I use “Fresh Rose Hydrating Gel Cream,” which is something I started using almost a month ago and I’m really loving it. Also if my eyes are dark underneath, I use “Origins Ginzing Refreshing eye cream,” for de-puffing and brightening.

Next I brush my teeth and then apply a lip scrub to keep my lips soft and to prep them for lipstick. Like me talking about the “Fresh” brand, you can probably guess my favorite lip scrub because I’ve talked about it a lot. Yes it is Jeffree Star Cosmetics “Velour lip scrub.”

After I finish my morning routine, my skin is ready for priming and makeup.
