Traveling in Style

I’ve been packing and unpacking a lot this past year, so much that I could do it in my sleep. My last excursion  was to the Midwest for a business trip. I was in a city that I had never been to before so the tips below definitely helped me. I think I’ve definitely become somewhat of an expert in making sure I have everything I need when I travel without over doing it by packing everything but the kitchen sink. With that said, I wanted to share some traveling tips to remember when you’re getting yourself ready for a trip, whether it’s overnight, for a week, or a month.

1. Weather Check- It’s a must to check to see what the weather will be like for the days you’re traveling. Also this saves you time and energy from over packing and guessing what your destination is going to be like.  I always look up the weather on my phone anyways, but usually a week before, I look up the place I’m traveling to on week at a time so I can keep track of the conditions there and I have a better idea of what and what not to bring.

2. Organization is Key- I know I’ve said this m ore than once in the past concerning different topics,  but making a check list, whether you use a pen and a piece of paper or keep your list in your phone, it’s good to write or type out all the essentials. This stops you from having an “OH FUCK,” moment when you realize you left something important at your house and don’t have time or can’t go back to get it.

3. Fashionably Comfortable- It’s very important to dress and be comfortable while traveling, especially if you’re flying. With that said, you don’t need to feel that the only way to be comfortable is to be in your pajamas or track suit if you don’t want to be. You can still rock your style. I usually will wear silk pants with a cute top or leggings with a rock and roll shirt. I also prefer to carry a good size handbag in case I want to bring my tablet or buy magazines, etc. I just stick them in my handbag and then my hands stay free and it’s more convenient.  I rarely wear shorts, skirts, or a dress unless they’re if flying because airplanes tend to be cold.

As far as shoes go, make sure they will be comfortable the whole time you travel to your destination. Also if you’re flying, you will definitely be asked to remove your shoes while going through security so wearing a pair that can easily be taken off and put back on is the more practical way to go. Oh and try not to wear a lot of jewelry with metal because you’ll also be asked to remove it.

Here are some fashion ideas that I’ve worn while traveling: Leggings with a rock and roll shirt, silk pants with a crop top, etc.

4.  Packing your jewelry and small items- I pack my jewelry, hair accessories and other small items in clear bags such he bigger size Ziploc bags. This way I can see and find exactly what I’m looking for and not. Even if it’s a nice piece, I’ll pack it with it’s protective box in a bag. It also saves my jewelry from getting tangled up by me rummaging trying to find a specific item.

5. Editing your Cosmetics and other beauty products- For this part, I decided to do a small video to show how I edit and choose what beauty items to pack without  over packing on products bringing every single color traveling  my cosmetics and other.

I decided to do a video for this topic because I think it would be easier to explain visually how I decide what pack and what I use to pack my products in.

Think about what you need and use on a daily basis such as your cleanser, moisturizer, powder, etc., and focus on packing just that. When it comes to makeup, depending on how long your trip will be of course, you don’t need to bring every single color lipstick or eye shadow with you. Edit you makeup by what you wear the most. For example, I will definitely pack the foundation, concealer, and powder that I use the most.  Makeup palettes are definitely perfect for traveling because they have a variety of colors that usually all go together but are more compact than bringing a bunch of single pans. Some palettes, like the Rockstar palette by “The Balm Cosmetics,” even contain a blush, a highlighter, and lip/cheek stains.

6. Last Tip- My last travel tip is an obvious one but it’s to save some room in your luggage for any souvenirs you get while on your travels.

I hope this post and these tips work as ideas for the next time you travel. Thank you for reading.

Summer Skin Care

FullSizeRender (6)

It’s that time of the year again, SUMMER TIME! So when one of my truly wonderful girlfriends, Sarah (lifewithlilred.com)asked me to be a guest blogger for her summer series, I was all for it. For my “Salute To Summer” blog post, I talked about how to prevent your skin from getting sun burned and damaged in the hot sun. Here are some tips to help you and your skin enjoy this summer:

1. SUNSCREEN: This should be a no brainer, but you can’t believe how many people, especially where I live in Southern California, don’t bother to wear sunscreen. Not only do a lot of them opt for lounging in the sun unprotected, but they also do tanning beds (which I refuse to ever try) and spray on tans. Sunscreen is a god send for not just my fair skin but for my girl, Sarah, who has such a gorgeous porcelain skin tone, herself!

As far as sunscreens go, I prefer a SPORTS Cream with an SPF around 50, (you can never be too careful!). They last longer and the Sports ones are waterproof. Spray sunscreens are great, too, especially when you don’t have anyone to apply sunscreen on your back! Despite how convenient spray sunscreens are, just be aware that you do have to reapply them more often than Sports waterproof sun screen.

2. MAKEUP FOR SUMMER: If you feel like you need to wear makeup while on the beach, vacation, or lounging by the pool, first of all, DON’T wear a lot of makeup. It’s not a good look. I recommend a waterproof mascara, a lip stain, and also the brand, BARE MINERALS! I have talked about Bare Minerals since it first hit the market about ten or eleven years ago when they only had the Bare Minerals store – unlike now, where you can get it at many department stores. Bare Minerals is a great makeup brand, which originally had a powdered foundation, a cheek color, and a mineral veil (which gives an air brushed finished to your foundation.). The best thing about Bare Minerals, is that they all have SPF sunscreen in them without looking greasy.

I, of course, love the MATTE coverage foundation and mineral veil. Bare Minerals now has many different products, like delicate colored shadows and formulas. But, for me, I’m old-school and like the original powdered products. Another Bare Minerals bonus, besides the sunscreen in it, is that if you find your skin really dry during the warm months, they actually make hydrating foundations and powders. Plus, the coverage is fantastic. I recommend this brand for sunscreen on the face. You can even layer the foundations over a delicate swipe of regular sunscreen, let it sit for a minute, and then apply the sunscreen powdered foundation.

3. SUMMER ACCESSORIES: Whether you are at the beach or the pool, summer accessories are a must. Bring a big umbrella to cover your beautiful skin if you’re lounging on a bench with music or a good book. A big floppy hat and oversized sunglasses can also never hurt when it comes to covering up your precious skin. Oh, and of course, don’t walk out of the house without a cover up over your bathing suit!

Brightening Your Skin

IMG_1594

I briefly mentioned this new brightening product that I love in my last post so I wanted to talk and share more about this new and fabulous product that brightens your skin and gives you a beautiful radiant glow. I love the brand, Hollywood, California GLAMGLOW, as you know, and was excited to try a new product from them. It is the GLAMGLOW “FLASHMUD BRIGHTENING TREATMENT.”  You all know I love skincare products that work fast and the flashmud brightening treatment is no exception.

This skin treatment contains illuminating diamond, white birch betulinic acid, niacinamide, and vitamin C. If you don’t already know this, any product with vitamin C, like serums, moisturizers, etc. are great for brightening your skin.

HERE ARE THE DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO USE THIS TREATMENT:

When you first start using this product you’re supposed to use it for three days in a row. After that you’ll be using the product between two and three times a week. You apply the treatment to your face when dry using circular motions to pre-exfoliate. After you do that you need to leave it on for a minimum of twenty minutes. When I do this, I apply it to my skin after wiping off my makeup, let in sit on my face for the twenty minutes or more depending, then wipe it off while I take my bath or I keep it on while doing stuff around my house. When it’s on your face, the treatment turns semi-transparent as the ingredients absorb. When your brightening product is ready to be taken off, just simply wash off with water.

A few warnings about using this product, definitely don’t get it near your eye area because it will irritate the sensitive skin area around them. Also before you go out, even if you don’t burn, you definitely should apply sunscreen to your skin to keep your skin healthy and limit unnecessary sun exposure while using this product.

I’m crazy about GLAMGLOW FLASHMUD and recommend it to anyone who wants their skin to have a healthy sexy glow without looking greasy or shiny. Definitely try this one out.

LilyAna Naturals

610snkue86l-_sx522_   Last month while browsing online through skin care and beauty items, I came across an eye cream from a line that was new to me called, LilyAna Naturals. I was curious. After I read the description of the product I was instantly intrigued by it. The eye cream I got is called, “Red and Hibiscus,'” I use plants and herbs in my everyday life  so I definitely knew I had to try a product like this. I ordered the eye cream and I’m very glad I purchased it. It’s a wonderful product and the top two things I love about Lily Ana is that all their products are for all skin types, ESPECIALLY SENSITIVE SKIN, which is hard to find sometimes and that there are  no harsh chemicals in it which again can be hard to find in different products.. Also my favorite thing about this line is that once you start using any of their items, you’ll see results extremely fast.

The next thing  I got the eye cream, I then ordered their “Vitamin C Serum” which its main focus to get rid of any fine lines on your face as well as your decolletage. Again like the eye cream, this serum works very fast and doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily or heavy. It’s very light and a little goes a long way this serum.

Soon after I made my orders, I got a personal email from LilyAna Naturals making sure I was satisfied with. It makes me feel good when people make things more personal in a positive way. I wrote back to them  thanking the for their kind message and that’s when we started conversing more It was very nice and I was happy when LilyAna said yes when I asked to do a beauty review on the company.

HERE’S A LITTLE FAMILY BACKGROUND OF HOW THEIR BUSINESS GOT STARTED. THIS BIO WAS SENT TO ME FROM THE WORDS FROM SHERYL FROM LILY ANA:

,

LilyAna Naturals is small, family business started with the desire to provide people
with the option of natural based products to address their skin care needs.

Our products work well for all skin types but we seem to have struck a chord with our customers with sensitive skin. Our products are gentle yet effective making them
>> the perfect solution to those struggling to find a skin care line that doesn’t irritate
or cause discomfort yet still delivers results.

We make customer care a top priority and focus our attention on communicating
with each customer to make sure they have the best experience possible.
With a 100% satisfaction guarantee, we want nothing less than our customers
to be completely happy with any LilyAna Naturals purchase.

We currently sell exclusively on Amazon.com where you can find all our products
and we are waiting to be of assistance to you in finding the perfect natural skin care line to fit your needs.

There are so many things I enjoy about this beauty line but a big reason is that after your purchase something from them, even though they are easy to apply, you get messaged on directions on how to use the products to achieve the THE MAXIMUM BENEFITS, which is very cool and definitely helps. One other thing, which I can relate to a lot is that all of Lily’s stuff are very gentle but very effective at the same time. I can’t use harsh products  on my face because it definitely can irritate the skin more so this was perfect for me.

You must absolutely check out LilyAna Naturals. I’m so glad I discovered them and recommend it to everybody. I actually received my latest product from them and definitely going to use it tonight. Enjoy!
