Even tho my makeup style is mostly  vintage pinup and old hollywood glam, I love trying new makeup looks and doing different tutorials. I definitely rocked gothic makeup in high school, surprise surprise but at times I went a little too heavy handed with my black makeup. For my “Mrs. Freddy Krueger” and my “Gothic Halloween Beauty” shoot, I wanted to create a dark and smoky look infused with glitter and glam and I’m very happy with how it turned out. Here are the makeup products I used and how I applied them.

FOUNDATION: Marc Jacobs Re(mark)able, Ivory 10.

EYESHADOWS:

The first eye color put on my lids was the color ‘Vanity’ from the Jeffree Star Cosmetics “Beauty Killer” palette. After wetting a synthetic brush with my MAC prep & prime, I then applied ‘Black Rainbow’ also from the Beauty Killer palette over ‘Vanity.’ Wetting the brush and then dipping it into ‘Black Rainbow’ makes the black more intense  without looking blotchy and makes the sparkle really pop. Under the brow bone. I used an eyeshadow color that I never use….. shimmery white shadow. I really dislike white shimmer shadow but it happened to work with this look. I used the color ‘Lily’ from my Models Own “Vintage Rose” palette which is a fabulous palette with eyeshadow like butter so atleast I was using a white shimmer from a palette I love. I applied it just underneath the brow bone and blended it out to give my shadow colors a nice gradation.

I love Stila’s metal metallic (Glitter and Go) liquid shadows and recently had purchased the color, ‘Molten Mignight’ which is black shadow with glitter. I used it as eyeliner as well as in the inner corners of my eyes and applied it with my finger to intensify it. The last eye shadow I used was Colourpop’s Super Shock shadow, ‘New Magic’ from the “Dusk Till Dawn” collection. These are one of the best glitter shadows I’ve ever used and they are cream and feel soft and bouncy while the glitter is mess free which I love. Again I used my finger to apply the beautiful white glitter barely in the inner corners of my eyes but not so I covered my Stila liquid glitter shadow. I used the white glitter closer to my nose. I then also patted ‘New Magic’ under my eyes, dragging it towards my cheeks.

OTHER EYE MAKEUP PRODUCTS:

The rest of my eye makeup included me taking a flat shadow brush and smoking out a little ‘Black Rainbow’ under my eyes. I also used my Urban Decay 24/7 waterline eye liner as my only liner in this look. I used my new favorite mascara, “Lights, Camera, Lashes” by Tarte and Anastasia’s “Dipbrow” in ‘Chocolate.’

LAST MAKEUP PRODUCTS TO COMPLETE MY LOOK :

You May not be able to tell in every photo but I did use blush and highlighter. For blush I used ‘Romantic” from Stila. For highlighter I  changed it up a bit. For my highlight, I used ‘Wink’ which is actually a shimmer shadow from the “Feline Fancy” palette from one of my all time favorite makeup companies, Sugarpill Cosmetics. I can’t rave enough about them.  For my lips, I used their brand new limited edition liquid lip color, ‘Trick’ which is a gorgeous witchy matte black color with metallic green and orange sparkles. It was the absolute perfect lipstick to complete this look.

I had a lot of fun creating and wearing this makeup look. I hope you try recreating this look and try one or all of the products used. I’d love to see all of your spooky sex kitten looks.

Gothic Halloween Beauty Photoshoot

I’ve been enjoying doing my spooky October posts and when my gal Sarah Mushenheim (lifewithlilred) asked to do a Halloween collaboration post, I was all too happy. Anything that has to do with Halloween makes me happy. Stay tuned for Sarah’s Halloween post coming soon as well.

The second photoshoot I did after my “Mrs. Freddy Krueger” was more of a “Spooky Sex Kitten” shoot with my custom-made vinyl cork screw boots, a black criss cross mini dress, and my sexy “bedroom wave” wig, (which by the way, I loved how I looked and wished my hair actually looked like that especially with that particular hair cut. We rotated taking both color and black and white/monochrome photographs. With my hair style and the dark makeup, I almost felt like a French or silent movie actress. I was felt very confident shooting yesterday which made it that more fun.

Since I wasn’t doing a typical Halloween shoot where you just dress up in any costume and stand there,  I came up with the idea to utilize my Halloween decorations and props in each photo. I thought the juxtaposition would look really cool and give the pictures a spooky and edgy but beautiful look. Here is my GOTHIC HALLOWEEN BEAUTY set. Hope you enjoy my photos and post and comment down below about what some of your favorite costumes have been.
