Here is my last outfit to celebrate summer. I chose to show off one of my vintage party dresses to celebrate the end of summer and the beginning of my favorite season, Autumn. I love the bird pattern and decided to wear a crinoline with this dress. Crinolines are petticoats that you wear underneath to give your dresses more volume and add an extra layer of color to your outfit. I chose a red crinoline for this pretty vintage look. As for my hair, I believe you can never wear enough flowers in your hair. Even if you’re wearing a casual outfit, layering flowers in your hair can make your look more fun and polished. To finish off my vintage party dress, I donned my heart-shaped sunglasses and my super high Wizard of Oz inspired sparkly ruby red heels
I really enjoyed posting my ten inspiring looks of summer but now that summer is almost over, I’m absolutely ecstatic about Autumn, MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR, and for everything that goes along with it.
Ok you all know that I LOVE MUSIC, especially Rock and Roll and collect concert tees, vintage concert tees from my favorite bands, and even new modern music tees that you can just buy in regular stores. If you’ve been following my site here for a while, you might remember a DIY post I wrote a few years ago titled, “Getting Creative with Concert T-Shirts,” where I show you had to transform your concert tees into different rent looks by cutting them, tying them, taking extra large shirts and turning them into dresses, and more. Here’s the link below in case you haven’t seen it.
In this summer inspired look, I took one of my music shirts and instead of pairing it with a pair of jeans or shorts, I dressed it up a bit to show that you can dress up and casual top, especially if it’s a rock and roll/music top. Here I show my favorite Beatles top and paired it with a classic blazer since the weather is starting to finally get a little cooler, slowly but I’ll take it. I paired my cool “The Beatles” top, which is my all time favorite band by the way, with my silver silk pants. I love these pants because you can wear them long or pull them up a little bit so they have a more Capri silhouette In these photos I pulled them up to show of my gold spiked ankle boots with my seven inch gold heels. I love these and who says you can’t pair gold and silver together? I topped my look with my black sequined scarf around my neck that my husband bought me on our very first vacation we took together to New York after dating a year.
Hope you enjoy my eighth summer inspired look. Only two more to go. Thank you everyone and have a great day.
I love pantsuits and playsuits. I love wearing dressy ones of certain occasions and I love wearing more casual ones for everyday use. We are in August where it’s starting to slightly cool off but it’s still very warm by me, so this gray blue and white striped Capri pantsuit is perfect for me.
Because of the stripes, I had a nautical theme going on here with my two red and white striped anchor bows, matching high heels, and red cat eye sunglasses.
The best part of this outfit is the cute cutouts it entails. There’s two zippers in the back which shows part of your back off which is very cool but my favorite detailing are the two side cutouts where I can show my waist and my cool ink.
Check out my pictures here before going out for grocery shopping and other errands. Thank you and enjoy!
I love wearing fruit prints, (cherries, strawberries, PINEAPPLES, etc.” especially during the summer. I also have decorated my kitchen with fruit and food accessories as well. I found this long fun pineapple tunic which can be worn as a cute cover up or a mini dress. I love the yellow tassles on the side. It’s a little eccentric and definitely unique and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I wore my bright yellow eyeshadow from my “As If” Colourpop palette, and my new purple hair flower with a bright yellow pineapple that I got from BooKittyAccessories (bookitty.shop) which I found on her Instagram. She sells really cute things.
I loved taking these photos yesterday. I borrowed my husband’s sunglasses for a few shots but didn’t wear sunglasses mostly so I can show my bright yellow makeup and theme. I had to wear little shorts underneath since there were some people around but you can definitely wear a long top like this with cute bathing suit bottoms (as long as their not a thong) or anything you want. I also rocked my black heels from Bettie Page Shoes. It was a fun mini shoot and the setting was perfect with the bright colors and floral background. Hope you enjoy and thank you Boo Kitty for my gorgeous purple pineapple flower.
All pics were taken of course by Nick Sorat!
A tank top and jeans is always a cute go to, especially during the summer time but I like to add a little extra flare to this look. I rolled and cuffed up my jeans like any good rockabilly gal and wanted to be pretty in pink in my cute barbie pink heart Trixie Mattel tank top. If your tank is a little big, pair it with a pretty lacy bra or thin camisole (that will still keep you cool) to give a little sexy but tasteful edge. It also dresses up the outfit a bit more as well do some big high heels or stilettos. I sported my new pair of HUGE flamingo pink and green- jeweled cat-eyed sunglasses. I love them and they are so fun as well as protect my peepers from the sun.
To give your look more glamour, wear some beautiful jewelry with it. Here I wore a beautiful shell heart bracelet to go with my hearts on my top and my finishing touch were some beautiful pearl drop, vintage-inspired chandelier earrings that I just got as a gift from my girl Kirsty Giuliani that she made. Thank you girlie, I am I love with them!
As I said in my last post on my second look for summer, this past Friday I went to Universal Studios in Hollywood. My great friend Jordan works for Universal and him and his wife, my other great friend Kirsty joined us. I was so glad that they were going to join us especially since they are there a lot and I didn’t want them to be sick of the park and to have a fun time, which they did. It was also very cool of them to join us because it was hotter than hell out and the four of us are very fair-skinned people. We’re all very good at protecting our skin. With that said, even with all the sunscreen we applied, we did get a little burnt which didn’t surprise me in this Southern California sweltering heatwave.
I’ve been going to Universal since I was little and we were reminiscing about the rides and attractions that the park used to have such as the Back to the Future Ride, E.T, etc. Even though my husband have been to Universal hundreds of times it seems, we both have never been able to see Hogwarts and the “Wizarding World of Harry Potter.” In the last few years, we’ve gone to Universal for Halloween Horror Nights where they close that part of the park down. We spent the majority of the day there Friday and it was so much fun. The Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride was awesome but going through the line in the castle was just as fun. The attention to detail was so crazy and amazing and you really felt like you were in the movies. Even though I’m not a die hard Harry Potter fan and have never read the books but really enjoy the films, and greatly appreciated all the work and detail that was put into Hogwarts. I love magick and wish it was a real place.
Besides that, we had fun taking pictures with Hello Kitty, trying on cute personalized kitty ears, did some shopping, including me buying a “Marauders Map” souvenir glass for my hubby and a Death Eater wand for myself, took a bunch of fun photos and just had a nice day. I think for the four of us, the most important thing was just for all of us getting together. We all get busy and crazy with our lives and it’s so important to take time out to get together with people that you have fun with and love. Also this particular trip to Universal was an early birthday present for my husband. He had been wanting to get a Hogwarts Butter Beer for the longest time and was upset that we couldn’t get any last time we were there, AND HE FINALLY GOT TO ENJOY ONE! Another huge thank you to Kirsty and Jordan for having a fantastic day with us, despite us getting burnt. It still was such a blast.
Here is my second summer outfit which was perfect for my day out yesterday at Universal Studios Hollywood. I wore my jean shorts donned with mini gold skulls and my sleeveless Dead Head Moth blouse from one of my favorite brands Hell Bunny. A little horror trivia, the dead head moth is the insect that “Buffalo Bill” collected in the movie, “Silence of the Lambs.” The blouse buttons down in front and is very lightweight which is perfect for the sweltering heat. It’s longer in the back than the front but has an opening in the back which again is perfect for the heat. Just remember to apply sunscreen to that area. The skull and butterfly pattern is so cute and I’m very glad I bought this cute top. You can find it and other fabulous clothes at Hellbunny.com.
Since I was at an amusement park, I couldn’t wear my big heels which I was very sad about. Instead I wore my Ed Hardy sneakers that I’ve had for years that I love and are super comfortable. I paired them with little white socks and my small Universal Monster Cross body bag that I showed in my previous “Pins and Brooches” post. This was the perfect summer outfit to be out at a theme park all day long.
Enjoy and stay tuned for summer outfit number three as well as photos from my day at Universal.
